Do you have only one bed?
2018
Installation 2018 – Triennale of Milan Mostra 999
Curated by Stefano Mirti
The bed is… an instrument designed for nighttime rest. The bed is… an individual space par excellence.
The elementary space of the body, the one that even the most debt-ridden man has the right to save: the judicial offices do not have the power to seize your bed; this also means – and is easily verifiable in practice – that we have only one bed, our bed; a place of the unformulated threat, a place of opposites, the space of the solitary body, a barred space of desire, a place of an unlikely anchorage, a space of dreams and oedipal nostalgia.
The bed becomes the hut of fur hunters, or the lifeboat on the raging ocean, or the baobab threatened by forest fires, the tent pitched in the desert, the refuge of monsters.
Bed = Island
In reference to the text of George Perec “Species of Spaces”
The bed is a rectangular space longer than it is wide and so is the pocket of your trousers.
A pocket to take away into your dwelling to fill with dreams. You don’t take away the content but the container.
29 Kaolin sculptures, to be decorated and to be taken away by public participants, into your home or to be given as a gift to a loved one.

THE DISTRICT ON DISPLAY at the centre of the city / at the centre of culture
Cultural rebirth project to value the district
On the 21 Septemeber 2018 The San Cristoforo district opened its doors to welcome people of any culture and social status. Through the language of art, for one whole day artists, galleries and associations entrusted their works to shops in the district. The relationship was based on trust, or more exactly, on the “word”, as is the custom in the district. The district was on display “at the centre of the city, at the centre of culture.” To document the event art critics, art historians, anthropologists, photographers and videographers were involved. Present at the event were the best-known exponents of Sicilian and Italian culture, who mobilized to know, study, analyze, historicize and propose solutions for revaluation of the places. Their cultural participation will contribute to a change in public opinion. Historical Italian galleries got their best artists to take part in the initiative. Every shop was entrusted with a work, which was displayed and looked after for the whole day. Sixty-two shops took part.
